Discord will make content from large public servers searchable on search engines

Published

Discord plans to publish searchable pages for Discoverable Servers, making messages searchable on Google and other engines. Pages launch Nov. 16, 2026, and messages appear from mid-December. Admins can exclude channels or disable the feature; users can opt out of message display. Dexerto says opt-in is required in the EU, UK, Canada, Brazil, Australia and South Korea; teens are excluded.

More context

Discord will make content from qualifying large public servers searchable on Google and other engines; the setting is enabled by default in many regions, with controls for administrators and members. Server Web Pages are due to launch on Nov. 16, 2026, while search listings are expected from mid-December, reports say. Through Server Settings > Web Presence, admins can leave selected public channels out or switch off server-wide inclusion; channels they do not change stay included by default. Members can prevent their own messages from appearing across Discoverable Servers via User Settings > Data & Privacy. According to Dexerto, the feature is opt-in in the EU, UK, Canada, Brazil, Australia and South Korea; adults in the U.S. and most other regions get it by default, while teens are excluded. Users cannot opt out of Channel Summaries, though admins can disable them.

Reporting

Verifier’s note

Mashable, Dexerto, and IGN report that messages in eligible public Discord servers will become discoverable through Google, with user opt-out controls. Shattered.io also describes the change but recaps other outlets’ reporting rather than providing an independent report.
