More context

A Harris County grand jury on Friday indicted ICE agent Mario Alberto Morales, 33, for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, accusing him of striking Miguel Parra Hernandez, 48, with an unmarked vehicle as he fled a Houston traffic stop on Oct. 10. Parra Hernandez suffered a broken leg and hip and ankle injuries, according to his family and representatives. ICE said Parra Hernandez ran in front of the vehicle and was struck, calling allegations of an intentional collision “false” and “reckless.” District Attorney Sean Teare said surveillance video contradicted ICE’s account. He described footage showing a Jeep Cherokee speeding over a median toward Parra Hernandez, though another vehicle blocked the view of the impact. Teare also said DHS had not cooperated with investigators and accused ICE of destroying evidence. DHS did not immediately comment on the indictment.
